What I'm Reading

For you readers out there here are the titles of some of the books I am currently working through.  I enjoy reading and I'll keep this list updated with some comments of what I think of the book and the Author.  Give me some feedback.  Email me your thoughts about the Authors or books I mention if you have read them.

Tedd Trip, "Shepherding a Child's Heart":  Re-reading for a class we are about to start.  One of those books one can read over and over and depending where one is in their life, one can glean different things each time.  This time I am especially admiring his illumination of the detrimant of mixing worldly philosophies with biblical philosophies.

Autobiography of George Muller:  What an amazing man.  Did you know he raised the equivalent  of 75 million pounds (in today's currency) without asking for a penny.  His faith and devotion to his ministry are genuinely inspiring.

R. A. Torrey, "How to Pray":  A must read.  This book has provided so much encouragement to me in the past few days.  Very simple to read and could be a quick read if one was not careful but I recommend you take your time with this one.

My Life

My love is my family.  My wife and I have been married for nearly 15 years now.  We have 6 children (3 of our own and 3 adopted).  They vary in age and keep us extremely busy.  We wouldn't have it any other way.  From soccer, football, dance lessons, swimming etc. we love seeing them grow into the adults they will be.  They are all talented and special and we love spending time with them.  My wife and I have been blessed with many mentors in our life to help us through the strains of raising a large family.  Our desire is to pass that on.  Check out my blog to catch some real life parenting issues.

Community Involvement

My wife and I are very involved in our church.  We usually spend a lot of time there between the kids and the parenting classes we teach.  We love being able to serve and encourage others.  Our main focus right now is our desire to equip other parents with encouragement, confidence and practical tools to make the years we spend with our children more fulfilling.

I also enjoy coaching the different teams the kids are on.  Whether it be soccer, basketball or football there is nothing like spending time with your child as their coach, pushing them to achieve more than they ever thought they could.

Professional Experience

Working as a residential home builder in New Mexico started my love for real estate.  I have always been intrigued by how real estate works.  Having been on the building side of real estate for 14 years, I wanted to specialize in the buying and selling of property.  While I do still have ties to my family business, my primary goal is to use my building experience to enhance the home buying and selling experience for all.
