Professional Background

Dolores:

I am a retired educator, worked as an Elementary Teacher, a Counselor, and Director of  after school programs. All jobs required organization, collaboration, and knowledge.

My commitment to education, youth and family led me to work on several drug prevention programs, which involved the implementation of evidence based curriculum for elementary, middle school, and high school programs. For several years I did parent training. I am very active in community and recently helped develop a "Community to School Program" in the small community of Gallina.

Emery:

After graduation from NMSU, I worked for several electric distribution cooperatives. I work for JMEC out of Cuba for about 13 years, than worked for NORA out of Chama for about 12 years, and finished my career with LPEA in Durango,Colo. During my 28 years, I developed relationships with members and users of the cooperatives, public entities; villages, cities, and county governments. I developed relationships with several native American entities; Jemez and Zia Pueblo, Navajo, Southern Utes, and the Jicarilla Apache Nations.

My Management philosophy than and today is based on the premise that communication is the key to setting in motion activities that will guarantee accomplishing those things that are important. I believe that it is the responsibility of all parties to a transaction to work together to reach the end goal.

I am now a full time Associate Broker, and as I have done in all my previous work experience; I am committed to delivering great customer service.

As a team:

We are a team that has been working together for over 35 years. We have purchased and sold real estate for personal financial stability. After retiring from our careers we have decided to continue working together in real estate both as a supplement to retirement and because we enjoy helping folks buy and sell real estate.

Personal Interests

Almost three years ago we were presented with a Grandson. Watching him grow up is like watching his dad and uncle years ago. He is curious about everything. Its great being a Grandpa and GrandMa.

We like to travel especially to the Mexican coast. Our favorite is Puerto Vallarta and than Puerto Penasco and Cabo San Lucas. Water is great, anywhere you can get to it. When I was in the corporate world my family and I traveled to many places, including Washington DC. For several years we would "WALK THE HILL" to visit our congressional delegation, always seeking support on issues important to citizens of New Mexico. I can say that we were always received graciously by our New Mexico Senators and Representatives. They have always cared about the needs of New Mexicans. While in DC we would visit the Museums on the Mall. Many artists from Northern New Mexico have had displays in the Smithsonian.

We have been boating at Abiquiu Lake since 1976, We have seen so many young people learn how to water ski, we even pulled a young boy on a small boat with a trolling motor, years ago. Abiquiu has great fishing for Walleye, Bass, German Brown, trout, and plenty of catfish.

Dolores and I oversee the management of  the INN AT THE DELTA in Espanola, it is truly a New Mexico cultural arts display. All the art was created by local artists. Check it out: The INN is a luxurious romantic get awaywww.innatthedelta.biz   Experience the Magic of Northern New Mexico Hospitality.

One of our favorite places of all time is the Ghost Ranch Conference Center, there is so much to do. The Ranch is a working ranch. Many of the small cattle growers in the area winter their cows on the ranch which is 20,000 Acres. Of course, Georgia O'Keefe help make the area famous.

One of Emery's all time favorite personal endeavors is the stock market. Emery has traded stocks, bonds, futures, currencies, mutual funds, etc. 2008 was tough and 2009 ended the year up, and 2010 is up and down.

And finally, we consider ourselves life time learners. We like people and are interested in what they have to say.
