Personal Background

David was born in Washington DC, but grew up abroad with his mother, who was a U.S. State Dept. Foreign Service employee of 33 years posted at various U.S. Embassies all over the world. He lived at different times in Bogota, Colombia, Kinshasa, Zaire (Now called the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa), and Manila, Philippines.

He became very fascinated with wildlife, particularly big cats, after going on several safaris in Kenya and petting a cheetah in South Africa.

He went to high school in Charlottesville, VA. Shortly after graduating he joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Pensacola, FL, and in the San Francisco, CA bay area.

He has always liked to draw and paint so after he got out of the Navy he went on to pursue his dream of becoming a commercial artist. He received an Associates degree in Advertising Art from The Art Center Design College. He currently is also an airbrush artist. Please visit his website at www.purrfectionairbrush.com

In 1992 David moved to Albuquerque, NM and instantly fell in love with the area, the culture, the people, and the food.
